Chocolate Chip Cookies and FREE Internet Access

This past Monday, I spent some time looking around the Sheraton in Boston again. This time the conference Audio-Visual chair, Josh Taylor, accompanied me. I couldn't decide which was more important, cookies or FREE access to my e-mail -- the cookies won out and get first billing.

Chocolate chip cookies in Boston
Did you know you can check the Boston Globe newspaper online? Under the A&E (Arts & Entertainment) tab, there is a link to Food – and on the left hand side of that screen you can click on to Message Boards. One recent topic was “Best Bakery for Chocolate Chip Cookies” and an oft-recommended place was Paradise Bakery in the Prudential Center, part of the complex where the Hynes Convention Center and the Sheraton Boston are located.

Free Internet access at the conference hotel
For those of you who are bringing your laptop computer to the conference, I hope you have a wireless card installed. In the hotel lobby and in some other public areas in the hotel, you can access the internet at NO charge every hour of the day! If you are a fan of Starbucks, you might want to sip a latte at its location in the hotel lobby, open up your computer, and check your e-mail for free. (No, the latte is not free.) As if that isn’t enough, there are also several computers in the lobby for guest use in going online. Of course, we each had to test the system for you and happily report we were able to check our e-mail while there. In your hotel room, Internet access is 9.95 a day.
